There’s Always a Choice: the Game of Leadership

I only went and did another podcast appearance!! This time talking about Leadership…

“Our possibilities are only limited by our own lens of the world”

— Paula Eddy-Wilcox

I’M NOT A LEADER, I DON’T NEED TO KNOW ABOUT LEADERSHIP

If you think for a second that leadership doesn’t have anything to do with you, think again lovely one!

And honestly – take it from one who has always been a leader but fervently faught against the title for a long time! I’ve only recently stepped into the leadership shoes that everyone already thought I was wearing! And dya know what? It feels wonderful!

Leadership is something that each and every one of us on earth, if we fully embraced, could live a better life. It all begins with self leadership.

Do you believe you lead yourself or are you led by others in your life?

What does self – leadership even look like to you?

THERE’S ALWAYS A CHOICE

I’d love to invite you to have a listen to this episode where we discuss choice and the oftentimes missing awareness that we have when it comes to choice. I feel that this is often due to that missing connection with true self. Paula is a great conversationalist, leadership coach, thought partner and friend…

To my mind, influenced by the book ‘Women who Run with the Wolves’ by Clarissa Pinkola Estés there are those who believe we have no choice. These individuals go through life swayed and directed by the effects of their life experiences and by the external expectations of others; family, friends, society. There is no awareness of choice. However, this in itself is of course a choice – a unconscious choice to ‘go with the flow’ – a term I’ve come to loathe!

So the author of the book talks about how we in fact have at least three choices;

  1. To go with the flow, the conditioning, the external expectations of how and ‘who’ we should be (compliance)
  2. To fight against it and act out in a way that doesn’t serve the dictator but also doesn’t serve us (rebellion)
  3. The healthiest and most beneficial for you (and the world) choice whereby you can connect with self, know self and conduct your life in a way that serves you, lights you and then in a beautiful, organic way then lights others and the world!

I’m so loving the chats I’m having with amazing women in business! There’s another coming soon with the fabulous Annemarie Strehl but this is the first part of three part that I recorded last week with the delicious Paula Eddy-Wilcox who’s a fantastic Leadership Coach and Thought Partner (in fact, it was in one of our sessions that she came up with the name Affinity!!! and I will always be so grateful for that).

If you think you only have one choice in life and that that’s to go along on the path that your life experiences have dictated then have a listen…

(And give her podcast a follow and share, let’s raise each other up!)

Get the book ‘Women Who Run with the Wolves’ on audible HERE or in paperback HERE. I’d go so far as to say it’s required reading for wild women entrepreneurs. I hope you enjoy it!
